How to Reconnect
A Legend of Korra one-shot; Makorra
Summary: Mako discovers that he loves Korra more than he cares for Asami, and he makes amends with his true love. At the same time, Korra discovers a way to reconnect with her past lives, at last!
It all begins on Air Temple Island some five months after the Water Tribe Civil War came to an end with victory for the South. Late in the evening, Korra looks up to the stars and sighs heavily, her thoughts flooding her mind about what to do about being the new Avatar of the New Age. She was walking along the stone paths that crisscrossed the island, sad-eyed and heavy-hearted. She looked in o
One love, two mouths, one love, one house.
Ever since harmonic convergence, the weather became colder. And so did Korra’s heart. She refused to talk, go, speak, see, do anything really, with anyone. The almighty powerful Avatar was shutting down. And it was definitely showing.
Now the only one who seemed intrigued enough to actually try to talk to her, was shut out the most. Even the slightest thing that reminded her of him drove her on the edge. Whenever she saw red, or black, or anything really, something always reminded her of that fire bender. She tried listening to the radio, but only stupid love drama soap operas were on. She ha

Korra needed someone to talk to. Her options, however, weren’t good. She’d already tried calling Asami but only got her secretary. While she knew the green eyed girl would call her back Korra wasn’t really sure how to really go about asking advice from her.
She could ask Eska but she didn’t really want or need advice from her cousin. Not to mention she seemed to be attached to Bolin’s face recently (which also counted Bolin out). Her aunt was also out of the questions, Korra knew exactly where the twins sparkling personalities came from.
She could call her mom...or go see her. It didn’t matter that

Makorra Week Day 4 Holiday
Mako fingered the fraying edge of his scarf as he stared up at the impressive building. Apparently this was where he and Korra were going to stay on their “vacation.” It reminded him of Asami’s mansion but green. To try to ease his nerves he began to count the badgermole statues he could find.
He jumped as Korra threw her arm around his shoulder. “Ready to check in?” She asked happily.
“Uh, sure.” He still wasn’t entirely convinced he wanted to be here. Korra trailed her hand from his shoulder, across his back, and then down his arm where she grabbed his hand. “Come on,” she

It's been exactly six months ever since Korra and Mako got back together. They have matured and they promised each other to use words instead of actions whenever they had a fight. Korra wanted to show Mako how much she loved being back together with him, but she couldn't. She was either always too busy or Mako was too busy.
"What the heck can I do for Mako?" Korra asked herself.
She then remembered that she had a secret that only Mako knew: she could sing. Korra still remembered when she was singing "What About Us" by the Saturdays and when she turned around, Mako was there clapping for her. That was embarrassing yet reassuring to her conf

Makorra Week 2013 - Day 3: Winter
Snowflakes fell ever so lightly, piling on top of one another as if they were trying to build themselves up to the heavens. Republic City was so tranquil at this time of year, and its citizens seemed to take on a sort of good will to each other, and Our Avatar was no exception; she loved the holidays and everything that came with them. However one thing was missing this holiday season, a certain dreamy fire bender named Mako.
Anyway Korra woke up to Pema telling her that she had a visitor, Korra threw on her usual outfit and went out to see who it was.
“Good Morning” Mako said coolly, “Good Morning” Korra replied &ld

Mako was not checking up on Korra. He knew (deep down) that she could handle being alone with their daughter. Nothing would happen to either of them. He tried to tell that to the little voice inside his head that filled his mind with all the terrible things that could happen to them while he wasn’t there.
This voice was the reason Beifong gave him almost two months off after Korra gave birth. That and an irate and sleep deprived Avatar threatening her because she needed help with the baby.
To appease the voice Mako was currently sneaking into his apartment to see how the two were holding up on his first day back to work. He caref

I miss Mako. I miss Mako. I miss Mako. Those were the only words that Korra could think during the masquerade party. Republic City was having its first annual masquerade party that was going to have food, live music, and other fun activities. The money would be going to several charities in the other four nations.
Korra wasn't the one who was always a fan of parties, but she decided to come just for the sake of others. She was wearing a Sherri Hill light blue dress that was covered with silver accents and ended with a "mermaid tail." She was also wearing silver heels and her hair was down. It was a little curly and took two strands of her ha

She hated him. She really truly did. She definitely did not have feelings for him. No, not at all. This whole thing was just so he could throw Zolt off his track. That’s all their relationship was.
She had not begun to actually enjoy their kisses nor had she ever felt butterfly-wasps in her stomach. It was indigestion from his cooking.
She kicked the edge of his couch in frustration. The idiot was currently off infiltrating Zolt’s hideout while terribly disguised with a fake mustache. Beifong asked for more info and he happily made her be his fake alibi while he went to get it. Like being his fake girlfriend wasn’

Mako couldn't believe it. He had to perform in front of an entire crowd. Everyone was there to celebrate Unalaq's defeat. Asami, Bolin, Tenzin, even Korra!!! And boy, did Korra look amazing! Not only did she have her hair down, she was wearing a strapless short dark blue dress with a silver belt, along with her wearing a leather jacket to match the tone of her dress. The song that was assigned to him was a little bit embarrassing to sing, but he had to get over it.
"Our next performer, Officer Mako!!" the announcer said. He walked out on stage and saw the crowd cheering for him. He then saw Korra smiling at him and winking at him. He smiled
